STUDENT COURSE EVALUATIONS -
1998

All participants are given the opportunity
to submit anonymous evaluations of the Mexico program. The "Student Assessment of
Course" form includes 24 questions dealing with various aspects of instruction. A
value of 1.0 represents the best in instruction. A value of 4.0 represents the worst. The
form also allows for open-ended written comments. I am thrilled to report that the average
value for the objective questions regarding instruction was 1.02! The following is an
exact reporting of the anonymous written comments of participants in the course.
- I felt that this class was a wonderful
experience. I learned many things about culture as well as ecology. I felt that this class
was not only the highlight of my education here at Murray State College, but a life
changing experience as well. I hope that this trip/class will continue to be a vital part
of our school. Dr. Moore was also a help to us. He opened our eyes to many other
opportunities available to us in the future. I would like to encourage you to continue
this course so that future students can learn and experience the things that I have.
- I want to take this time to thank you for
this wonderful experience. Bruce Stewart and Dwight Moore are great instructors. I feel
that I am very fortunate to be a student at Murray. There is no other school in our area
where I could have had this opportunity to experience this sort of hands on education.
Thanks to Bruce and Dwight!
- The trip was great. I learned a great deal.
It was a lot of hard work, but very informative. I also liked the fact that Dwight Moore
was able to go, too. He was very helpful. This class was a wonderful experience. It is
something that I will remember for the rest of my life and will carry with me for the
remainder of my education. I hope this class will continue at MSC so other students will
also be able to enjoy the wonderful experience that I did.
- This course took me to the extreme in field
zoology and culture. Never before have I learned so much about new habitats and Mexico as
a whole. This class was not only a great life experience, but also an excellent tool for
learning. I was glad to have had the opportunity to be part of such an enlightening
course. I hope that every student has the same opportunity before they graduate.
- This class was the best class I've ever
taken. It was well planned and I hope there is a continuation to it. Like Mexican Ecology
and Culture II.
- It was one of the most memorable experiences
I have ever had. The trip was fabulous and I commend Bruce Stewart for his efforts. MSC
should definitely continue this wonderful trip because it is not only a chance to become
exposed to various scientific procedures, but it is also a tremendous cultural experience.
Muy Bueno!
- The most interesting course and coursework I
have been associated with thus far. The ecological aspects of our vertebrate inventory
will benefit future generations. Also, the help of Professor Dwight Moore was much
appreciated. His and Bruce Stewart's knowledge of the material to be presented was and is
unsurpassable. I recommend this type of course to anyone interested in a biological
science oriented major.
- This course was the most educating course I
have ever taken. Thank you for the experience. Dwight Moore was full of educating
information. I loved meeting him and plan on meeting up with him for another adventure.
Thanks Bruce for everything.
